Praktijk voor NLPt & Destination Coaching
Since 1983 I'm working as a family physician (general practitioner) in a small village near Rotterdam, Zuid-Beijerland. I'm still working as a medical doctor, although more part-time.
In the beginning of the nineties I was educated in behavioral therapy. Here I learned about the work of Milton Erickson, famous American hypnotherapist. This motivated me to participate in a course about hypnotherapy, where I got in touch with NLP, until then for unknown for me.
As a matter of course I followed the NLP education, this gave me so many insights in the way the mind works that I could really use it in my practice. Successively I followed a course to become NLP practitioner (at the IEP at Nijmegen), NLP master practitioner (at the NLP University of Robert Dilts in Santa Cruz, California) and Health practitioner (Health Certification Training with Meeander).
A couple of years before this I already met Robert McDonald, an American NLP trainer. After having lost contact with him we met again in 1998. From this a co-operation was created that lasts until now. Together with my wife Anneke we organize every year several seminars and courses with Robert. From the beginning I translated every seminar and course, since I know from my own experience that hearing things in my birth language makes a huge difference, even though I speak English pretty well. After I had participated in the course Healing The Wounded Heart in California we decided that this wonderful work also had to be brought to Europe, and since then we organize this wonderful course regularly. Since the beginning we have educated and certified many Destination© Coaches.
In working with Robert I found out many things about what is possible, how powerful his work can be. This changed my own life in a deep way, also a deep friendship was created with Robert and his wife Luzette.
Besides my work as a family doctor I now also work as a NLP therapist/ Destination© Coach. For this work is makes only sense to make an appointment if there is something you want. If there's no outcome, than apparently there is no destination you want to go to, and working with me would be a waste of time. Sometimes the outcome might be that you just want to know what your outcome is, and that's also fine, as long as there's an outcome to work on. Tossing and turning in problems is not the way I want to work.
Besides working at the physical and emotional level, I also started working at the energetic level since the last years. Therefore I was educated in the Qero tradition, amongst others by the Inca Medicine Wheel. In my experience this way of working is a very valuable addition to the "western medicine" approaches.
Symbol of the Caduceus, the staff of Hermes: western medicine has only one serpent, Aesculapius.
For me the Caduceus is an important symbol because I want to heal at every level. So not only the western part of it. My theme is an integration and synthesis of the physical, the mental and the spiritual.
I'm a member of the NVPA (Dutch Association of Psychologists and Psychotherapists), some insurance companies will therefore be willing to pay for my sessions.
